TYF Celebrates Staff, Volunteers, Teachers and SDG Dancers!

Thanks to the generosity of Rupe and Lisa Sidhu, The Youth Foundation staff, volunteers, Star Dancing Gala dancers, and Power Hours teachers got to enjoy a night in the wild west! The group of 80 enjoyed barbequed vittles, country music, s’mores by the fire, and vast expanses of the open sky at 4 Eagle Ranch on October 14.

The party served as a venue to appreciate the hundreds of hours our volunteers give annually—whether in the classroom, setting up tables at the gala, registering participants, or helping to keep our office flowing smoothly. It also served as a kick-off for the school year and the hours the staff and teachers will dedicate to providing extending learning and enriching experiences for our local kids.

“The volunteers and teachers are the heart and soul of our organization,” Susie Davis, Executive Director said. “It was so fun to be able to celebrate for, and with, our staff. We serve 1500 children each week—that is a lot of responsibility. We have fun doing it, but it’s fabulous that we are able to let our hair down and get to know each other outside of school.”

Dana Bronfman, Scholarship Coordinator, and Jason Pyle, Avon Elementary School coordinator, got the dance party started with some good old-fashioned country swing dancing. Soon after Maggie Jackson, Programs Coordinator, united the crowd, turned up the Electric Slide and kept the dance party going.

Teachers mingled with TYF staff, and a toast was made to another great year ahead of programs. Despite the cool night, they dancers kept the temperature in the pavilion hot, hot, hot.

“There is no party like a Youth Foundation party,” one teacher was heard saying as they wrapped the night up.
